Internet Marketing and Better Backlinks - Different? Better? Find out why.
News and information for online web publishing professionals!
Are you getting the traffic you deserve from your Youtube.com Videos?
Youtube videos can easily rank on Google Web Results for medium to low competition keywords – by this I mean 2 or 3 or 4 word keyword phrases.
It is harder to rank them for ultra competitive keywords, but it can be done. It just takes longer and more effort to do it perfectly.
A youtube video page is just like any other page you would like to rank on Google Web Results for keywords – the content must be there (the words on page) and you must have links coming from web pages with the keywords that you want to rank.
In addition to the content, it might be helpful to actually also have VIEWS for your videos – ie people actually watch them. You can boost this number by embedding your videos in your blog or other sites that allow embedding videos. Try adding your videos to Facebook pages and also announce them on Twitter. This should get you a few views to get started.
Also consider adding them to Google+ so your circle of friends sees the video.
If you’re a member of Blogging Underground you can also announce your videos in the blog network by posting articles and including links to the video.
If you want the youtube video to rank high for your keywords – simply make sure the keywords are actually in your youtube page TITLE and in the description section of the video page.
If your video page has a short title and very few words (or none) on the page, it will be HARDER to rank that page for your target keywords UNLESS it is massively popular and getting a huge number of views on it’s own.
A good general rule though is if you want to rank for a keyword phrase – make sure that keyword is actually on the page you are linking to.
You need to get the correct URL of the video – ideally the URL in the address bar of the web page that would be indexed by Google (sometimes there are also shortcut URLs and longer variations of the main URL – try to only link one URL – not all of those as each one may indexed seperately and therefor be dilluted) and decide what keywords you want to use as the ANCHOR TEXT.
> Anchor Text Example: WordPress Web Hosting
I suggest using a few variations of the keyword phrase (shuffle the order of the words and add an extra word to beginning or end etc.)
Also consider linking to single WORDS in the phrase.
The key is to have variety and not just link the same thing excessively.
It’s also good to have the anchor text keyword links come from a variety of domains on different IP addresses (web hosts) and they should not all hit at once.
Blogging Underground makes this easy as our blog network has blogs hosted on many different IP addresses all over the world.
A big mistake a lot of people make is that they will do a LARGE NUMBER of links at one time (on a single day) and then NEVER have new ones appear.
That would be un-natural.
Try scheduling them so a few will hit AFTER your initial links show up.
The Blogging Underground Blog Post Utility allows members to schedule to date the blog post will be publsihed so they do not all hit at once.
You should see your video ranked on youtube within a week or so of your links being found. The pages with your links need to be found, crawled and indexed before it will have an impact.
Inititially it may not be on page one but if Google continues to find new links the ranking will rise.
If you are not using the scheduler in the Blog Post Utility at Blogging Underground try to get a new link here and there on your own once you see it rank to make sure they know it is still relevant.
If you do things correctly you can get your youtube videos to rank on Google and get a lot of traffic!
Consider getting a Blogging Underground Membership so you can do things perfectly!
