Camtasia for Mac sucks too. The audio playback just stops working (even though the waveforms look fine) and I used to have to restart the program to pick up editing where I left off. But today in the middle of editing I suddenly lost all audio output from the program. Other programs work fine. Despite trashing preference files and even reinstalling the program I can’t get it to work anymore. I want my money back!!!!

i use camtasia studio 7.1. the record video works fine, however, I get a constant clicking and popping on the audio. any ideas on changing settings… or anythin else would be helpful.

I think Camtasia is awesome. I have been using Camtasia 7 for the last year an a half. I found it to be intuitive and easy to use. It’s easy to add voice, and backing tracks if required. The callouts work great if there is information that needs to be blurred. The transistions give it a bit of a slicker feel. As far as I can remember it has crashed twice, in the time I have been using it. I use Camtasia to create help tutorials for my companies product line. Very cool product.

I totally agree! I know your post is old but I’m using 7.1 right now and it completely blows! It has crashed my PC 7 times in 3 days. Recording, I found a work around with my Hardware Video Acceleration turned down. Rendering it just crashes every single time. No matter what format, what I have in the project. I’m done with it.

I Googled “Camtasia crashes” and you get pages & pages of frustrated users trying to do an important presentation, etc. Their support is severely incompetent, so I will go another route. Camstudio is free but limited.

A lot of morons complaining here. I don’t fault them, as they are likely inexperienced users. Many of the issues reported here do not even pertain to the software mentioned. Mostly just folks who are too dumb to understand how software works.

I don’t blame them, I just pity them.

Ever since I’ve ordered my Ubuntu installation disk and switched to linux, I haven’t worried about Camtasia any more.
