Internet Marketing and Better Backlinks - Different? Better? Find out why.

News and information for online web publishing professionals!

Not All Backlinks R Created Equal

Not All Backlinks Are Created Equal – some are simply better!

Here is the link to a very detailed and info packed article I just wrote on the AU article blog that should finally put to rest any confusion about IP Addresses and how they affect backlinks.

>>> IP Addresses and Linking
– stop by to read it and leave your comments please!

OK, now let’s talk briefly about IP Addresses and Linking and my new article called “Not ALL Links are Created Equal – IP Addresses Matter – A Lot!”

Click Here for article >>> IP Addresses and Linking

I am in a very fortunate position as I have a direct connection with you guys and hear about the things you guys face out there in the trenches. Every once in a while I run across a member asking for help who can’t understand why their page or site has dropped off the top 10 or has disappeared completely.

9 times out of 10 when I analyze the site and start poking around I will find some obnoxious and over zealous linking patterns leading to the site. It could be some kind of spam link directory scheme, or automated article submissions with obvious spammy resource box linking, or it could be excessive linking from the same places without natural “real world variety”, or it might just be lack of variety in the text used in linking.

Also, it’s common that a member will buy and use a service that gives them a 1,000 links or 10,000 links or whatever, and instead of helping their site, their site suddenly drops in the toilet.
The reason is almost always tied to poor quality links and patterns that are easy to detect.

This made me realize it’s important that I try to convey to you how valuable the links are that you can get from the Article Underground network of announcement blogs.

>>> IP Addresses and Linking

Article Underground members routinely get top rankings for keyword phrases that bring in traffic! In many cases the keywords are easy to rank for and a handful of links on a few of the AU Blogs are enough to get them to the top!

Why take chances with link farms and schemes that might ruin all your hard work and get your sites banned??? It’s too easy to get the right kind of links using our blogs!

What is so great about the Article Underground announcements blogs???

Using our network of high quality blogs YOU are in complete control of your linking! You can vary the text – match it with post titles – use original content in your posts or simply copy and paste excerpts – you are the boss!

The kind of links you get from our network of blogs are far more valuable than getting a quick 100 or 500 links in the author bio boxes from article or directory submissions (don’t get me started)! Hey – those spammy cookie cutter directories can really be dangerous if you are not careful! In fact, I suggest you stick with only submitting to the more established article and link directories and never bulk submit to 1,000’s of dashboard sites or use any other article farms or cookie cutter link directories – those will get you in trouble!

Why? Often they have clusters of sites that are all on the same IP addresses! See – the IP address is really an important consideration!

The AU Blogs are spread out on servers all over the world on diverse IP Addresses and give you an opportunity to add many high quality links that will add natural diversity to the links pointing at your pages.

This “link diversity” is huge and can give you a tremendous advantage over the folks out there recklessly using the old tricks that Google knows about and does not like!

Well… I better stop – you need to go to the AU Article blog and read my post and this will all make sense! I promise you!

>>> IP Addresses and Linking

Oh, and I just installed the do follow plugin on the blog at the above link – so this blog now gives LINK JUICE to links in the comments! So please – stop by the blog and then leave a comment and feel free to include up to 2 links.

That’s all for now! Best wishes for success out there in the trenches!

  1. Thanks for the insight on how your site can be affected by links. The thinking that more is better is deceiving and I feel sorry for people who have paid to have their website lose ranking due to poor links.

  2. Thanks for the post. The other factor that weighs pretty heavily is not only the quality of the links, but the speed in which they are created.

    I have found that sites who get a ton of inbound links, quickly, are often hurt by it. The key to improving rankings is to build in-bound links slowly and consistently over time.

  18. Great post – I tackled this subject in a slightly different way suggesting that an option was to buy cheap hosting and install blogs on different IP C-blocks. Only really cost-effective if one is creating lots of blogs in different niches.

  20. Your post serves as a warning to other blog/site owners out there. Most of them tend to do some shortcuts to build their link to other sites. They are after of the quantity than to quality building.

  21. Wow great information. Especially for those starting out. I tend to lean towards a slow buildup of incoming backlinks to my sites. And I’m very careful about what I throw out there, but this is all about where you throw it out there. I never really took that into consideration.

  22. I just started using a service called article marketer that syndicates your articles to a number of sources. I do have a resource box that I feel is not spammy, I make it a regular practice to rewrite it every 3rd article. So far there have been no adverse effects. Has anyone here had any different experiences?

  25. There has been much written about linking and all that Jazz in recent years. Link farms worked once but the search engines advance at such a pace its not worth the hassle, time or money to use these.

    However article and blog sites are fantastic ways to get diverse linking that looks natural and thats because it is natural.

    Good post and great article.
