Google Insights for Search
Google Insights for Search is a great keyword research tool that deserves some attention if you are looking to spot trends and jump on them!
> Link to Google Insights for Search
There are a million ways to use Google Insights for Search – it has such great info, but let’s try to use it to help us build a campaign – whether PPC or Natural Organic SEO
Let’s say you want to promote a new product or CPA offer – simply go to Google Insights for Search and type in keywords relating to the product and note 2 columns in particular – Rising Searches and Top Searches (under search terms).
Change the settings to 90 days on Google Insights for Search so you can see the CURRENT trends (it’s set to a few years by default). This will show you keywords that are on the rise. Click those and you’ll be taken to more data. Keep track of the keywords and you’ll have an excellent list of “off the beaten path” keywords that are GROWING as opposed to drooping.
Also of note at Google Insights for Search is the “regional interest” data – I just searched for “affiliate marketing” and noted India is at the top above the USA! Hmmmm…. India might be ripe for some PPC traffic, possibly even at a good bid price.
Me, I have Google Insights for Search as a widget – gadget set up on iGoogle – so I can see at a glance what is going on for a few key search terms
So there are a few ways to use Google Insights for Search.
Here are some helpful links with more info on Google Insights for Search.

Google insight for search is really good one but it is not preferable if you are searching for keywords to rank for long time in search engines by using SEO to get free traffic.
I normally use adwords keyword tool which is simple yet amazing. I found that princess costumes get lots of search by using this tool and hence bought this domain http://disneyprincessdresses.com check it out

Great info Mike. Looking at the past year’s data (or longer), Google Insights is also very good for easily seeing the seasonal trends in various niches so that you can be better prepared.
Comment by Office Password Pros — January 29, 2010 @ 8:00 pm
That must be the most immature tool ever from Google. To start with it is presented to me in Finnish, a language spoken in my country but not MY language.
Add to this that the change language box is off-screen to the right, really hard to find and finally when I did find it, IT DOES NOT WORK. The drop down box drops up instead of down so half of it isn’t visible on screen and theres no way to use it.
Google FAIL.
