I'm no expert with Google but one thing that I found out was that if you put up a site with lots of content all at one time, you'll be banished to their supplemental index (aka the sandbox) forever. I built a site that had over 200 pages and it did me no good from a SEO perspective. Question: just how low of a Page Rank do you need to have to be put in the supplemental index? I assume all PR1 and PR2 sites. It seems counterproductive to put PR3 and PR4s in there (I'm assuming to Google PR5 and above are stellar sites. My rookie .02 cents worth. The supplemental index is an “in-house” term Google uses to refer to it’s secondary index in which it stores pages that are only used to return results when the FIRST index is exhausted. You can’t just find it as the only way you even know it exists is by seeing the term “supplemental result” noted at the bottom of the listing on google for your page.

You usually only see “supplemental” for longer search phrases where there are many similar pages with the same content or when pages have few or no links pointing at it.

At the time of this writing – search for this on Google and you’ll see a site that has many “supplemental results”

How do you FIND the google supplemental index? I’ve never heard of it.
