How to Stop OVER analysis PARALYSIS & Information Overload
Stop wasting time! Stop wasting time on the little things and focus your energy on things that make money! This is the key to success!!! Really!
Over analysis paralysis - it happens to the best of us.
It is usually a result of information overload. I know all about it – it happens to me all the time!
The best way to get out of this rut is to take a step back and simplify what you do.
Spend your time on the tasks that bring you the greatest return.
9 times out of 10 a lot of what we spend time ANALYZING does not affect our bottom line. It’s nothing more than “busy work” that wastes time.
So how you get out of the over analysis paralysis mode???
The solution is to focus as much energy as is possible on doing the things that really makes us money.
It sounds so simple – but we all get distracted. Email – web pages – audio – video – all that stuff is vying for our attention.
I’m not suggesting you abandon all of the things you do – BUT _ what I am saying is that you can be more successful and you can do this by simply focusing on things that have been proven to work!
In the case of the Article Underground approach to web publishing the following are things that work!
1) Build Web Sites with lots of pages with great words on them – more is better! Keep sites fresh! Add new pages regularly! Every page you add is another income opportunity! If 10 is good 20 is better! Don’t just put up a few pages and then forget the site. Keep it fresh!
2) Get text links – lots of text links to both the home pages of your sites and the inside article pages that have all those great words on them! Links bring top rankings and traffic! You need fresh links! Today and in the future! Every page has the potential to rank on top and bring you traffic! But unless you get good links coming in and pointing at them they will never rise above the competition! Get some links!
3) Analyze stats to see where traffic comes from – this one is huge! Study your stats! It is my secret weapon and makes all your other work pay off HUGE!
Our goal is to improve the rankings for keywords that already bring us traffic!
This one is HUGE! You have the power to turn 10 visitors into 100 – often simply by getting a few more text focused links pointing at a page that already is ranking high enough to bring traffic. Make it rank higher! It’s easier than you may think!
The key to success is to avoid wasting time… stop analyzing things that have no impact on success.
Forget about all the other little time wasters and tiny trivial things and focus on what works!
For example - checking your rankings for a list of keywords just because you want to know their rankinsg is a waste of time - I say ONLY check rankings of keywords that bring you traffic - other keywords are worthless - stop wasting time on trivial things!
You find out which keywords bring you traffic by analyzing your stats and looking at the referral URLs!

Well, I must admit, it’s not exactly what I thought it was.
Follow or be followed….
Twitter is a place online to let people know what you’re doing! It’s a place to let your followers follow what you’re doing or you can follow others.
Sure, I had a vague idea that you could input short bursts of sentences indicating in 140 characters or less what you were doing. But I didn’t quite undestand the part where people would follow you or you could follow other people. It’s all starting to make sense.

Build Pages - Get Links
If you are familiar with me or Article Underground you should know that my primary sumary of what it takes to make it big in Internet Marketing and Web Publishing is the Mike Liebner mantra “Build Pages - Get Links!”.
I jokingly say Mike Liebner MANTRA because in the private Article Underground members only forum, that saying has become a running joke of sorts! In fact one member created his own avatar that had a superhero looking guy with Build Pages - Get Links on his pumped up chest! Very funny!
But it is TRUE - BUILDING WEB PAGES with great keywords on them and GETTING GOOD LINKS with excellent keywords in them can help a web publisher push their pages to the top of Google! It’s the way it works boiled down to the core!
It’s so simple, yet so many people get stumped along the way to building successful web sites that attract people and make money! They over analyze every nuance and detail and get so distracted they DO NOT spend enough time building pages and getting good links! And then they wonder why they are not MAKING LOTS OF MONEY!
It’s funny, but this morning as I was listening to the radio I heard fitness guru Jillian Michaels (from Biggest Loser fame) repeat her MANTRA which was “Eat Less - Move More!”

Can you feel the “online surge”??? It’s starting!
Hi, it’s Mike Liebner from Article Underground and I have a few items to share with you.

It’s getting close to Christmas and New Years and that means that sales, clicks, transactions and online activity in general will start going through the roof very soon.
It also means that many people and businesses will be in a state of chaos and will be distracted with many folks disappearing to go gift shopping, decorating, fooling around, or go away on vacation for the holidays.
That means that the next few days and possibly into next week will be the quiet time before the “online storm”.
From past experience I usually see a huge spike occur right around the 26th of December (day after Christmas) and it continues through all of January. It’s a wonderful thing for those of us that make our living online!
January has always been my best month for making money online (for over 12 years now) and the one I earn the most in. December and April are usually the next most profitable. So don’t worry if December is passing you by, because January is a monster and after a brief slowdown in February it will stay busy until April when it will once again peak and explode! After that - May starts the slowdown until Summer hits when many online businesses have the least activity (not all - some seasonal businesses have other peak months).
Now is the time to work hard and plan for the surge in activity that is coming at us!

Do you have web pages up and indexed by Google that have the words that people will be searching for???
For those of us selling infoproducts, eBooks and affiliate products online, there will be a huge amount of newbies with computers who will be looking for information and more importantly to buy things!
Why not be the one to hook the newbies up with what they will be searching for??? They have a lot of money in their pockets from Christmas!
Create keyword rich web pages that have information about the products and services that you know the new computer owners (and cell phone owners and high tech gadget owners) will be seeking out.
Make sure your keyword loaded article web pages have relevant links to affiliate products so that you get a commission when they buy!
And they will buy!
It may as well be YOU that gets the commission, or click money!

How tight is your niche??? Is it so tight you may be excluding people from seeing offers they may be interested in???
It may be a good idea to find a tight niche and attack it, but it is NOT necessary to keep it so tight that you may exclude potential customers from buying your products, services or clicking on ads.

A few people have asked me lately why I am DOWN on Google Adsense, and in reality I am not DOWN on it - but am looking for alternative methods to monetize my web sites.
Adsense is GREAT if you want a simple and easy way to monetize your web pages. It’s brainless and requires no thought. Just slap on the code and Google will pick the ads and pay you some money for the clicks. HOWEVER if you can spare a few extra minutes doing research and custom selecting affiliate products (or your own products) and putting them on your web pages that get the most traffic - you will be rewarded far greater than the dollars and cents you will get from Adsense clicks alone.
I’m not saying you should dump Adsense, but what I am saying is to go out there and try some other methods of monetizing your web sites. Create your own products, build your own opt-in lists of subscribers, join affiliate programs and promote good products that are targeted to the keywords your web pages are getting traffic for and your earnings will GO UP! Internet Marketing is a terrific way to make a living. Selling advertising, products and services online can be a lucrative career and liberate us from having to punch in a time clock and toil way too many hours for someone else who sees the majority of the benefits of that effort.
Working at home and creating an online business can be very rewarding. The initial investment is quite small compared to traditional brick and mortar type businesses which require lots of cash and often the efforts of many.
It’s almost too hard to believe that one person such as ourselves can actually do everything that is needed to be done to generate an income that is equal to or greater than the jobs we strive to liberate ourselves from. But it can be done! And I’m not the only one who serves as proof. I’ve been a one man company for over 12 years now making a full time living from internet marketing.
While it may be possible to carve out a good living on your own, why is then that so many people fail at the internet marketing game??? Well, there certainly are lots of reasons but the one I see all the time is that people are wasting time and getting distracted by all kinds of junk and low return tasks that they fail to focus on the things that really have profit potential. It’s a cycle of sorts that many people get trapped in.

It’s a numbers game!
I often get emails from members of Article Underground, or from susbcribers of my marketing newsletter. Occasionally I will include them here on my blog.
Here is a message I got today and the response. It may be helpful for others.
“I would like to ask your advice. I am doing a website on KEYWORD PHRASE. I know this is a massive market but I took your advice and used a mis spelling hoping to get traffic through the back door. I am on the first page of google for this term, but am still not getting a lot of traffic. I have got about 13 articles on there and intend to put lots more on. I am currently going back over the mistakes I made when I first joined AU. EG. changing titles, duplicate posting and link text as I thought this may be the reason. I have also set up 2 other web sites on this theme and 2 blogs which all point to the main site. My main concern is that the market is too broad anyway. I’m not niave enough to know that 13 articles is going to get me hoards of traffic but I wanted to ask your honest opinion if you think I should stop now and just write it off to experience and concentrate on tighter niches or do you think I should carry on? I don’t want to waste time flogging a dead horse as time is precious and I am already working into the early hours of the morning every day. If you think I should carry on, could you tell me at what stage the traffic should start to flow in more. EG. How many articles need to be on my website and how many articles on average I should be posting on that website per week. I am so focused on making this work, so if I have to start again I will. I just want to get it right and not just be a busy fool!”
Unless you are #1 for “credit card” or “music” you really can’t count on an overwhelming amount of traffic for one keyword. One page or even 10 pages is simply not enough data to make any real conclusions about.
It’s a numbers game!
The key to going after top rankings and free search engine traffic is to put a lot out there. Especially when you are new as many of the larger return traffic phrases need to be earned. It’s a major accomplishment for any new site to get any traffic immediately.
If you are you are on the right track! Search engines reward sites they trust and you earn trust by establishing a track record. So keep putting fresh content out there and earn some respect! Traffic will increase with time. I’m sure if you look at your stats and study the traffic graph you’ll see as you add more pages the trend will be up. That is your goal - always keep the trend up.
Also, some pages will go up - some will go down. Fluctuation is normal. So never rest on one page ranking high as you need to have more aces up your sleeve to slip into place when pages naturally drop. Also - watch your stats so you can catch pages that are dropping and get them back on top by adding more words to the pages (freshness) and also getting the pages more quality text links with the words in them. PLR Articles: Similar Content or Exact Duplicate Content???
I just got an email asking if there was any profit potential with Article Underground PLR Articles because of “duplicate content penalties” causing problems with getting traffic.
Ahhhh…. looking at the galss half empty instead of half full… As I have said before - it’s all in the way you look at things.
When you change the way you look at things - the things you look at change!
Absolutely there can be profits using PLR articles! You can use the articles in many creative ways that will snag you targeted traffic that buys products or clicks!
You need WORDS on your web pages and lots of them IF you want lots of free search engine traffic! PLR articles can be a great way to build up web sites and create high value real content pages that people will want to visit!
PLR articles are great inexpensive tools you can use to build web pages that will bring your web site(s) more targeted traffic!
Not ALL PLR Articles are crap! Article Underground articles have real value to visitors. That’s what you should be concerned about. Will people be happy when they visit my web site?
It’s how you use PLR articles though that can help you get more traffic than the other guys who may be less fond of working. It’s not hard work even - it’s smart work that makes your web pages better than the Average Joe’s!
Using a PLR article on a web page is not in itself going to get you #1 on Google! It’s how you use the article to build a web page with good profitable words and real value for the visitors - you need to find your audience. You need good quality links pointing at the page!
There are variables that make one page better than another. Variables that make one web site more powerful and authoritative than others.
The best of us will find ways to make our web sites better.
So - what about duplicate content?? Isn’t it a problem?
There is a big difference bewtween SIMILAR content - such as pages incorporating PLR articles - an EXACT DUPLICATE CONTENT - such as identical pages.
I’ll share some info that you should find helpful and at the bottom I’ll include links to some further discussions. Dupe content is a hot topic!
First off, Article Undeground members join for a number of reasons. The articles may be one of them. There are many other features that are worth the price of the subscription. Links in the blogs may be enough! Also great research and tutorials and a killer private forum.
AU Members see value in many of the benefits. That is why I still have many members from back in Feb. of 2006. They stay members because they keep getting value.
Not all of the 350 AU members actually download each months zip. Generally it is about HALF.
Current - as of today - 24 days after the current sets were released - downloads are as follows:
April 16, 2007 Article set 1 - 127 of 350 downloaded
April 16, 2007 Article set 2 - 108 of 350 downloaded
And of those 108 that downloaded set 1’s 400 articles - not every member will use each one of the 400 articles in the zip. Even if they use MANY of the articles there is a good chance they will modify the articles at least a little. It pays to spend a little extra effort on tweaking.
Even if they do not modify, tweak or creatively use the articles (they do) - a duplicate or “syndicated article” does not in itself cause problems with Google. It depends on the application as to whether Google will want to index the page.
Also, there are a million and one ways to creatively use the articles. It’s too easy to midify them and make YOUR web pages more unique. It is a rare chance that 2 members will use an article in exactly the same way. It is rare that 2 web pages are identical. AU offers tutorials on how to customize articles and create unique web sites that have YOUR PERSONALITY stamped on them.
Duplicate Content can be looked at in several different ways. It’s not a death sentence in itself to have an article that someone else has on their web site - in fact - there is no reason to worry about posting a PLR or syndicated article on your web site - that in itself is not a problem. It’s SIMILAR CONTENT not an EXACT DUPLICATE web page.
That’s how newspaper sites do it when they syndicate their articles. There is no penalty as such against that.
So what kinds of so-called “duplicate content” are there out there???
1. Similar Content - PLR Articles - News Syndication - Original Articles on more than 1 site - (parts of a page are the same as pages on site or on other sites)
2. Exact Duplicates (same web pages 100% as others on site or off site)
3. Public Directory Article Syndication (when 1,000’s of people use the same exact articles unmodified and with the same author box and external text links - as in the case of goarticles.com and ezinearticles.com)
I’ll give you my take on each:
1. In the case of similar content with PLR articles or articles you have written and use on more than 1 site - there should be no concern. Use your own template or design your own web page for each site that will include an article. (continued - read more of this article…)
PageRank Update in Full Effect
It appears there is a Google PageRank Update in Full Effect
Today 4-30-07 as I was working on my PC I noticed one of my web sites had dropped in PageRank. It appears to be a GLOBAL down-trend affecting a lot of people I have talked to.
At first, I didn’t think much of it as sometimes the PageRank on a web page will fluctuate. But as I showed one of my sites to someone I noticed it too had dropped in PageRank! Holy bat cave! A PageRank Update is in full effect.
For those of you who may not know about it, Google periodically updates the PageRank that the public will see in the Google Toolbar and other places (PageRank Checkers). Back just a year or so ago it was around every month or two but has changed to every 2 or 3 or 4 months for a complete update.
Regardless of the timeframe of the public update, it’s important to know that Google PageRank is constantly updating in real time, however we don’t always get to see that ourselves until they do the ‘public update”.
So what does all of this mean? Well, for one it means that we can see PageRank on our newer sites and also see what progress we’ve made on our older established sites.
Unfortunately today - it appears that there is an “internet wide” global drop in PageRank. In other words, MANY web sites (not all) have gotten their updated toolbar display of PageRank and have seen a drop of 1 PageRank point (on a scale of 1 to 10 - 10 being best). While I am happy to say MOST of my sites stayed the same - several of them have dropped and a few of them that should have zoomed up high stayed the same. All new sites WENT UP SIGNIFICANTLY.
http://www.articleunderground.com has been a strong PR 6 with boat loads of traffic and a high Alexa rank of 16,000 and hey - it dropped from 6 to 5… that aint right! It’s never been stronger from a popularity and incoming link standpoint.
As I looked at a few more of my sites to see the new PageRank I saw a few drop that should have gone UP…
Hmmm…. was it just me? The more I checked on other sites than my own, the more that I saw drop 1 or 2 PR.
In fact very few sites I looked at from the general public had the same PageRank. Almost all the sites I looked at had dropped.
goarticles.com was now a PageRank 4…. hmmm… wasn’t that a 6??? WOW!
PR 6 to PR 4 is a HUGE DROP! And that has long been thought of as an AUTHORITY site (it’s not my site).
Other sites from other people I looked at had dropped as well… in fact almost every site that was documented in my Directory Submission lists were down on average 1 or 2 points!
